What this assessment asks

  1. Is the top of your screen at about eye level and roughly an arm's length away?
  2. Can you sit with your back supported and shoulders relaxed, facing the screen without twisting?
  3. Do you work with your head bent forward or turned to one side for long periods?
  4. Is your chair adjusted so your feet rest flat (or on a footrest) and your knees are about level with your hips?
  5. Are your keyboard and mouse placed so your forearms are level and your wrists straight?
  6. Do you feel discomfort in your wrists, hands or forearms during or after screen work?
  7. Do you get tired or dry eyes, blurred vision or headaches from screen work?
  8. Do you take a short break or change posture at least once an hour during screen work?
  9. Is your screen free from glare, with comfortable lighting and temperature?
Please note: This self-check raises awareness of display-screen-equipment (DSE) risk. It is not a medical diagnosis and does not replace your employer's formal DSE workstation assessment. If you have persistent pain or visual symptoms, seek professional guidance.
